The Salvage Yard

My husband and I sadly ended up at the salvage yard this week looking for a ‘new’ rear axle for his poor Jeep after his was tragically wrecked… but on the lighter side of things, it gave me the unique opportunity to take some new shots on my G10! There is really just something interestingly aesthetic about this place…

Calgary -02/28/06 – Protesters in support of Lawrence Hughes march a demonstration in front of the Court of Queen’s bench. Hughes is currently battling against Jehovah’s Witnesses due to their religious prohibition against blood transfusions after Hughes’ daughter, Bethany, a Jehovah Witness follower, died from leukaemia in 2002. Canmore - 12/17/05- The Calgary Stampede puts on the first ever outdoor winter rodeo event at the Nordic Center in Canmore, Alberta. Lethbridge lights up!

As it would turn out, this past long weekend was the 100th anniversary of the iconic High Level bridge in Lethbridge. In celebration of this event, the bridge was lit up on Saturday for the first time ever since its completion in 1909. I was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time (aka: my cousin’s wedding reception at the Galt Museum of all things), and was able to catch this historic event!
